Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the-job.app, The Job App mobile application, and related services (together, the "Service") provided by The Job App ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract to use the Service. You must provide accurate account information, keep it current, protect your sign-in credentials, and promptly tell us about suspected unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account and may not sell, transfer, or share access in a way that compromises account security.
2. What the Service does
The Service helps you organize career information, discover and rank job opportunities, prepare application material, and track application progress. Features may include document extraction, profile building, job matching, generated cover letters and checklists, CV editing, and AI-assisted chat.
The Service does not act as an employer, recruiter, employment agency, or your legal representative. It does not submit applications to employers for you. Marking an application as submitted records your progress inside the Service; you remain responsible for submitting the actual application and communicating with the employer.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of CVs, certificates, profile information, messages, and other content you provide ("User Content"). You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to provide User Content and that doing so does not violate law or another person's rights.
You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, copy, transmit, analyze, transform, and display User Content only as needed to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, including through the service providers identified in our Privacy Policy. This license ends when the content is deleted, except where continued retention is required by law, needed for security or dispute resolution, or remains temporarily in backups.
4. AI-generated content
Artificial intelligence can produce inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable results. You must review and, where necessary, correct extracted profile data, job-match explanations, cover letters, CV content, checklists, and other generated material before relying on or submitting it. You are responsible for ensuring that application material is truthful and appropriate.
The Service does not guarantee that a job is available or suitable, that information supplied by a third party is accurate, or that you will receive an interview, offer, or other employment outcome. AI output is not legal, financial, immigration, or professional advice.
5. Subscriptions and payment
Some features are free and others require a paid subscription. Current prices, billing periods, taxes, plan limits, and included features are shown before purchase. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the interval shown at checkout until cancelled. You authorize the relevant payment provider to charge the payment method associated with your purchase.
Web subscriptions are administered through RevenueCat and Stripe. Subscriptions purchased through a mobile app store are also subject to that store's payment and subscription terms. We do not store complete payment-card details.
Plan limits may reset at the beginning of a new billing period. We may change plans, limits, or prices prospectively. We will provide notice of material subscription changes when required by law, and a price change will not apply before its stated effective date.
6. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel automatic renewal through the billing settings or the store where you purchased the subscription. Unless applicable law or the purchase terms require otherwise, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period and does not retroactively refund prior charges. Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account, documents, profile, applications, or generated content.
Refund rights vary by location and purchase channel. Mobile app-store refund requests must be submitted to the relevant store. For a web purchase or a billing error, contact support@the-job.app. Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, or refund rights under applicable consumer law.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- use the Service unlawfully, fraudulently, or to misrepresent your identity or qualifications;
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, malicious, or that you are not authorized to use;
- interfere with security, availability, authentication, or other users' access;
- probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without written authorization;
- introduce malware or use automated means to overload, scrape, or extract data from the Service;
- reverse engineer or attempt to obtain source code except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- circumvent plan limits, access controls, or usage restrictions; or
- use Service output to violate another person's privacy, intellectual property, or other rights.
8. Our intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, and original content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the Service for your own job search and career management. No other rights are granted.
9. Third-party services and job information
The Service relies on third-party providers and may display job or company information obtained from third-party sources. Third-party services, websites, job postings, and employer application systems are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. We do not control or endorse employers and are not responsible for their acts, hiring decisions, availability, or content. Verify important details with the original posting and employer.
10. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting support. We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access if you materially or repeatedly violate these Terms, create a security or legal risk, fail to pay amounts due, or misuse the Service. Where reasonable and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Features may change, and maintenance, provider outages, security events, or circumstances outside our control may interrupt access. We may modify or discontinue features, but we will not remove mandatory consumer rights and will provide notice of material adverse changes where required.
12. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties not expressly stated in these Terms. We do not warrant employment results, the accuracy of AI output or third-party job data, or uninterrupted availability.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, lost opportunities, or loss caused by your reliance on unreviewed generated content or third-party information. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, intent, gross negligence, death or personal injury, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes to the Service, our business, or applicable law. We will post revised Terms here with a new effective date and provide additional notice of material changes when required. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the revised Terms, except where law requires another form of consent.
14. Contact
